Ingredients

2 cups Almatahin all-purpose flour

½ cup melted butter

½ fresh milk

¾ teaspoon grounded cardamom

Icing sugar for coating

 

For filling

1/3 cup crushed walnuts

¼ cup icing sugar

1 tablespoon rose water

Pinch of cinnamon powder

Instructions
  1. Mix all of the filling ingredients, set aside
  2. Boil the milk and let to set
  3. In a wide bowl, combine the flour and the grounded cardamom. Make cavity in the center and then pour in the melted butter and knead
  4. Add the milk while kneading until form a firm dough
  5. Form the dough into small balls, concave the center and add 1 teaspoon of the filling and form into a ball again
  6. On a saucepan heat deep oil and fry the ball, stir until golden brown
  7. Remove the balls and drain, set to cool
  8. Roll the balls into the icing sugar until fully coated, serve warm or cold
